Frequently asked questions
What is a temporary email inbox?
It is a short-lived address that receives email without requiring a user account. You must keep its access token to read it again during its lifetime.
Is the service free?
The hosted web inbox and core API are offered free to people and AI agents for authorized development and QA use.
Can I send email?
No. gecici.email is receive-only and does not offer user-facing outbound email.
Can I choose an address?
Yes, but custom names require 4–32 ASCII characters including a digit and an internal separator. Reserved names such as support or info, including simple variations, are blocked.
How long is an inbox available?
The default lifetime is 60 minutes. The token holder may extend it or delete it. Expired records are deleted on API activity; irreversible removal from disk pages or backups is not guaranteed.
Can an AI agent use it?
Yes. The hosted MCP and REST endpoints support token-protected inbox workflows. You are responsible for configuring a compatible client and using the service only where you are authorized.
Will every verification email arrive?
No guarantee. External senders may reject temporary domains, delay delivery, or apply their own verification rules. A successful inbox creation does not prove mail delivery.
What about privacy?
Messages and tokens are processed by the hosted web API. Do not use temporary inboxes for sensitive accounts or personal data. Read the privacy and security policy for retention and infrastructure-log limits.
